About
A catalog that welcomes difficult questions
Fossary helps you choose and launch services on your own server. We disclose limitations, never disguise incomplete checks, and rely on official sources.
Quality over quantity
Every application needs a reproducible recipe: image version, Compose file, environment example, instructions, requirements, and a clear validation status. A page without this information is not ready.
Official sources first
Official documentation, repositories, release notes, and container images take priority. Third-party articles are only supporting references, and all catalog copy is written independently.
Verified does not mean audited
The validation status describes whether a recipe works in its stated scenario. It is not a source-code audit and does not guarantee that an application has no vulnerabilities. Potentially dangerous settings are disclosed separately.
What you may take, and under what terms
A recipe — the Compose file, the environment example, the proxy configurations and the scripts — is MIT licensed, and the LICENSE file in its own directory says so. Copy it, change it, run it, ship it.
The catalog itself — the manifests, the editorial text and the documentation — is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. Reuse it by crediting Fossary, linking the catalog, saying what you changed, and passing the same terms on.
Application names, logos and screenshots belong to their owners and are not relicensed here, and the Fossary name and mark are not licensed for use as a trademark. None of it implies endorsement by anyone.
Disclaimer
Fossary is an independent informational catalog and is not affiliated with the developers of the listed applications. We collect information from public sources and verify published recipes, but we do not develop, distribute, or control these applications.
A listing or validation status is not a requirement, endorsement, or personal recommendation to use an application. You decide whether it is suitable and use it at your own risk. We do not warrant an application's security, availability, or fitness for purpose and, to the extent permitted by law, are not liable for resulting loss or damage. Review its license, security settings, data processing, and backup procedures before installation.
